Many printers, especially laser printers, come equipped with an internal memory chip that stores error logs, information about previous print jobs and images of the current print job so the printer doesn't have to keep referring to the computer to know which word or part of the image to print next. When this chip becomes full, the printer may become slow or cease accepting print jobs. To resume normal function, you can follow a simple process to reset the chip and clear the data.
1.Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
2.Wait 60 seconds. This gives the printer time to completely dissipate its electrical charge, and with no power coming in, the chip will not be able to hold the data and will automatically reset.

Plug in the power cord and turn the printer back on.
4.Print a document or picture to ensure the chip has reset.
